Pride Block Party FAQs

Where is the event?

This year, the block party is bigger than ever! We will still be on 7th street between Washington and Main, and this year we’ll also be on Main from 6th street all the way up to 8th street! Our 3rd Space is also generously letting us use their space, be sure to pop in to check out even more vendors and take a sensory break from the crowd!

Can I bring my family?

Absolutely - everyone of all ages is welcome! We will have live performances all day, a goat petting zoo, arts & crafts, a professional photo booth, face painting, axe throwing, tarot readings, and more!

How should I get there? Will there be parking? Is this event accessible?

Parking will be VERY limited downtown on the day of Pride because there will be many different events going on. We encourage you to plan ahead and take transit if possible - we have 250 day passes for bus riders to get to the event for free, available for pickup at Dandelion Teahouse! Carpooling with friends is also a great option, but be prepared to spend some time looking for parking. The event takes place on the street, and any sidewalks that may need to be utilized will be open and accessible to everyone.

Do I need to bring anything?

It will likely be hot outside, and the sun will be shining! Don’t forget sunscreen or something to protect your skin. If you are easily overstimulated, we recommend bringing ear plugs. We will have both sunscreen and earplugs at the first aid tent if you forget!

Will there be opportunities to give back?

Yes, there will be QR codes all around the event if you’d like to donate to Queer Community Network! Bloodworks will also be on site for blood donations, and the young democrats will be registering folks to vote at their tent!

Is there a safety plan for the event?

Yes! We have an emergency plan in place, and we have a team of de-escalators who will be at the event who are trained to lower tensions should any arise. We will also have a first aid booth staffed by trained volunteers who will have first aid supplies, water, sunscreen, and anything else you may need. 3 Vancouver Police officers will be on site for the day to ensure everyone’s safety. For more information about our safety plan, click here.

Is there a schedule?

We will have performers on stage all day long! Be sure to stick around for our headliner, 76th Street, who will be closing out the day.

Can I bring my pet?

Absolutely! We LOVE dogs, and will even have some local vendors at the event with goodies for your furry friends.

Is this a free event?

YES! As always, the Pride Block Party is free and open to all.

What should I wear?

Whatever makes you happy! We will be having our Kaleidoscope RX “Wear Your Pride” fashion show at 3:30pm, this is a chance for attendees to show off their amazing Pride outfits and be entered to win prizes for best looks! We encourage you to wear rainbow colors, and be sure to keep an eye on the weather forecast - it may be hot outside!

Will there be food?

Because this event is a block party, we are so lucky to be surrounded by amazing local restaurants who have amazing food. All attendees are encouraged to support these local businesses during the event - some will even have specials for Pride!

Can I bring alcohol or weed?

As in year’s past, this is an all-ages, sober event. You are more than welcome to stop in any of the local bars to grab a drink, but open containers of alcohol will not be permitted in the event itself. This event is non-smoking!

The Pride Block Party is Made possible in part thanks to the City of Vancouver's Washington Lodging Tax Grant Program.
