We Do nonprofit Leadership
differently
OPEN ROLES
we operate with a sociocratic-inspired governance model
QCN doesn’t operate like most traditional nonprofits do - and our governance and decision-making models reflect that.
We believe that how we practice leadership matters. What we practice at the small scale shapes the larger systems we live in. If we replicate the conditions of domination, we will recreate domination. Instead, we intentionally build structures rooted in shared power, accountability, care, and trust.
Leadership at QCN is a practice, not a position. Our Governance Circle operates within a minimally hierarchical, consent-based governance model where leaders serve as stewards, not authority figures. The role of governance is not to control the work of the community, but to create the conditions that allow community-led work to thrive.
This means listening deeply, facilitating alignment, balancing community needs with organizational care and compliance, and stewarding the long-term sustainability of the organization.
QCN is truly powered by the community, for the community.
